Almost 40 years experience in the diesel engine industry

CEI qualified to degree level in mechanical engineering and Member IMech.E.

7 years hands-on management experience on diesel locomotives operating in the Auckland Region of New Zealand Railways. Began as a Mechanical Engineer and later appointed Senior Engineer with special responsibilities for diesel maintenance on intercity locos and investigating the cause of derailments. Position resulted in him gaining Chartered Engineer (CEng) status.

10 years at Paxman Diesels, Colchester UK in various managerial positions, beginning as Chief Tech. Service Engineer, Service Manager and finally International Sales Director. All roles involved extensive worldwide travel, gaining valuable experience in customer interfacing at all levels.

21 years senior management experience with Rolls-Royce plc. Initially appointed General Manager Crossley Engines, Manchester, then Director of five Rolls-Royce companies, with specific responsibility for managing WH Allen and Crossley operations. Later appointed Operations Director for UK Diesel Businesses and member of Bergen Engines, Management Board, Norway. Rolls-Royce career culminated in the position of Vice President, Business Development, Diesels within RR Marine.

Former Deputy President of Euromot, the organisation representing most reciprocating engine manufactures in Europe.
